SUSTAINABLE MOVEMENT Online Class
Sustainable Movement classes are designed to help you become more aware and more sustainable in your body no matter what you do or how you use it. Classes are thematic and cover different body parts and common injuries or mis use of particular areas of the body and offer rehab, re education and movement re orientation through Yamuna® Body Rolling routines, yoga, simple movement and experiential anatomy.
Classes allow students to explore the muscles, bones, joints, organs and glands to uncover and re-activate their relationships and as such include exercises and routines for strength, flexibility and balance. Through slow movement and awareness of breath and relationship to gravity, students can start to identify and respond to their issues from a more intelligent, grounded place.
Yamuna® Body Rolling (YBR®) is an intelligent self-care modality based on experiential anatomy and yoga principles that allows you to get underneath your compensatory habits and imbalances to recover from injury and / or to improve posture and increase the efficiency in your body mechanics. In YBR®, we use various sized balls and focus on particular areas of the body to stimulate or activate what is underused and reduce the impact on what is overused. We move slowly to release tension in the body, rebalance muscles and realign joints.
The Yamuna techniques and routines practiced during these classes aim to:
- stimulate bone and reverse the impact of usage over time
- provide traction to keep joints functioning properly
- release muscle tension to alleviate overall stress
- increase awareness of compensations to reorganize the nervous system
- help the body regain balance and operate more efficiently
- help you gain an embodied understanding of your own anatomy so that you can customize your self care
Classes are open to all levels. The work is organic so you make change at your body’s own pace. YBR® techniques are preventive and rehabilitative so over time, you can help your body become sustainable throughout the aging process no matter what you do or how you use it. Each class in provides integrative and restorative routines and tools to help you work from the inside out.
